Ayudame a recuperar la movilidad - Fundraiser

This crowdfunding campaign supports my dear friend Dolly in gathering the funds necessary to undergo a much-needed hip surgery in Caracas, Venezuela. English text below.

Hola! Mi nombre es Dolly Corado Muñoz, soy una médico oftalmólogo venezolana de 31 años de edad.

En el año 2021 me diagnosticaron una lesión en la cadera izquierda llamada pinzamiento femoroacetabular, una condición que causa dolor y limita el movimiento. Inicialmente, la terapia física y la rehabilitación me permitieron mantenerme estable.

Sin embargo, a mediados de 2023 la lesión se agravó, convirtiéndola en un problema que solo puede ser solucionado mediante una cirugía. La artroscopia de cadera es mi única esperanza para volver a caminar sin dolor y retomar mi vida y su ritmo normal. Esta intervención me permitirá regresar de lleno a mi trabajo como médico oftalmólogo y a realizar voluntariado en muchos lugares de mi país. Esto significaría volver a disfrutar de las actividades que me apasionan y me da energía para seguir adelante.

Mi vida gira en torno a mi amor por la medicina, mi espíritu aventurero y mi compromiso con ayudar. Soy una mujer activa que disfruta del deporte, el montañismo, la repostería, el baile y explorar nuevos lugares. Sin embargo, mi lesión en la cadera limita mi capacidad para ayudar a los demás, al mismo tiempo que me ha impedido disfrutar de mis actividades favoritas.

Trabajo de manera independiente y no cuento con ingresos pasivos. El costo total de la cirugía y la recuperación sobrepasa $15.000, una cifra que supera mis posibilidades económicas. Por eso, acudo a tu generosidad para que me ayudes a hacer posible este sueño. Cada donación significa un gran paso para mí, porque me acerca a la posibilidad de caminar y vivir sin dolor, y así volver a lo que soy.

Hello, my name is Dolly Corado Muñoz, I am a 31 year old Venezuelan ophthalmologist.

In 2021 I was diagnosed with a left hip injury called femoroacetabular impingement, a condition that causes pain and limits movement. Initially, physical therapy and rehabilitation allowed me to remain stable.

However, in mid-2023 the injury worsened, making it a problem that can only be fixed by surgery. Hip arthroscopy is my only hope to walk again without pain and to resume my life and its normal rhythm. This intervention will allow me to return to my work as an ophthalmologist and to volunteer in many places in my country. This would mean returning to enjoy the activities that I am passionate about and gives me the energy to keep going.

My life revolves around my love for medicine, my adventurous spirit, and my commitment to helping. I am an active woman who enjoys sports, hiking, baking, dancing and exploring new places. However, my hip injury limits my ability to help others and has prevented me from enjoying my favorite activities.

I worked as a self-employed and have no passive income. The total cost of the surgery and recovery is higher than $15,000, a figure that exceeds my economic possibilities.

For this reason, I appeal to your generosity to help me make this dream possible. Each donation means a big step for me, because it brings me closer to the possibility of walking and living without pain, and thus return to what I am.
