Hello! My name is Ruby Price, and I am a junior in the film conservatory at SUNY Purchase.

Growing up in suburbia, prom was treated as the pinnacle of high school. It’s a night loaded with emotion, masked in shimmery makeup and beaded dresses. My junior thesis, Dollhouse, explores this dynamic, as a deep dive on how friendships behave amid this ritual. I want to foster a world where teenage girls can expose their imperfect and selfish desires, to shine light on the discomfort within a polished facade.

My story follows teenage Lila, who, while comforting her best friend through a breakup, finds her loyalties tested by an unforeseen desire on prom night.

With the money raised, I would be able to fund:

-Location rental

-Meals for cast and crew

-Transportation costs

-Crafty for set

-Art department/Props/Lots of dresses!
