Luke Modini welcomed Doja into his family just two months ago, quickly forming a deep bond with her.

A week ago, we found Doja injured near the fence by her home. While we can’t say for certain, we believe she may have been struck by a train. The impact caused a fractured hip and other internal injuries.

She’s already undergone one surgery, but during the procedure, the veterinary surgeons determined that additional surgeries are necessary to address the internal damage.

Each night at the clinic costs about $1,000, and the total for her surgeries is expected to exceed $20,000. She still has another surgery ahead, and until it’s done, we don’t know when she’ll be able to return home.
