After years of helping others rebuild their lives, Haley is fighting to keep her own home.
I’m a fellow Social Worker and close friend of Haley, and I’m writing this because she’s one of the rare people who lives by her values and puts others first, no matter the cost. I am hoping that as a community, we can help support someone so deserving of it, and help save her home.
Haley is a mother of six, a survivor of trafficking, addiction, domestic violence, and homelessness, and a graduate student working toward her Master’s in Psychology. For over a decade, she’s worked in social services- investigating abuse, protecting vulnerable adults, and advocating for those who have no voice. I have personally witnessed the lengths she will go to for someone in need and have seen her change lives. Her values are everything to her. Integrity, honesty, compassion, and accountability guide everything she does- and, heartbreakingly, they’re also the reason she’s lost so much.
In late 2024, after years of dedication to the State, she lost her job for standing up for what was right and refusing to stay quiet about what was happening to clients under the guise of "protection". She can’t discuss details due to pending litigation, but those of us who work in this field know what happens when you refuse to be silent. I've seen enough to tell you she did not deserve what happened to her. She’s since been fighting an uphill legal and financial battle against the very systems she once worked within.
Since then, she’s faced one devastating challenge after another. Her car was broken into and then weeks later she was involved in a terrible car accident. She endured a traumatic health crisis that left her physically and emotionally drained. She’s weathered grief, betrayal, and professional retaliation all while parenting her children and doing everything she can to stay above water. She has applied for countless jobs, utilized resources, and hasn't given up yet.
What makes Haley extraordinary is that even through all of this, she’s never stopped thinking about others. She’s been quietly building her dream project, a trauma-informed advocacy and consulting business designed to help survivors and marginalized adults navigate the same broken systems that nearly destroyed her. She’s written the business plan, built the framework, and developed materials, she just can’t afford the licensing or startup fees to make it real. That’s who she is. Always putting others first, even when she’s the one bleeding. Always taking the harder path if it means doing what’s right. Always offering help, standing up, showing up, and giving people hope when they’re lost.
Now, she’s the one who needs help.
Haley’s been in her home since December 2017, after years of addiction, homelessness, shelters, and instability. In 2020, a traumatic event occurred leaving Haley on her own with six children. Instead of giving up or going backwards, she buckled down and pushed forward... she put herself through two college degrees while working full time and taking care of her children on her own. Maintaining this home has always been her top priority. It’s the only place she has ever felt safe with her children. She’s raised them there, built a life there, and even gave birth to two of her children in that very bedroom. Losing her home would mean losing the last piece of stability she’s fought so hard to create.
Her rent of $1,800 is due Monday, October 20, 2025. If she can’t pay, she and her children will be evicted. Every bill is on final notice. She’s applied for every program available and has been denied or waitlisted.
Your donation will go directly toward:
Rent: ($1,800 due Oct 20) to prevent eviction
Utilities: currently on shut-off notice
Basic necessities: while she gets on her feet
Haley has fought her way out of addiction, trafficking, abuse, and homelessness. She’s built a life rooted in ethics, compassion, and service. She has done everything right and she’s being crushed under the weight of systemic retaliation and bad luck. It's time to help her stay stable while she picks herself up and dusts herself off again. I have faith she will make it out of this but she truly needs and deserves the support.
Please donate if you can, and share this campaign widely. Every dollar, every share, every kind word matters.
Haley has always shown up for others. Let’s show up for her.
