Doing it for Doug Memorial

As a good friend of Doug’s (and the family), I am setting this up and sending it to all friends I see listed on his page and mine because I know he never will.   Please feel free to forward to anyone else!

If you know doug then you’d know he’d give the shirt off his back and literally help anyone anytime that asked, and he has repeatedly over his lifetime....never even a thought of asking for anything in return.   The entire time he has struggled himself with multiple medical problems throughout his life.  One thing after another Doug took what life handed him and endured, never complaining, never asking for help or accepting assistance.   




He loves his life but he’s dealt with a lot over the last 30 years.  Always at the Drs office, Always hurting or sick, and always having to take care of his medical issues everyday instead of working or playing with his kids, etc.   But again, never complains no matter how bad it gets or thinks he needs or deserves anything different than anyone else.   




The last few years have been exceptionally exhausting for him.....daily therapy, treatments, and devices for his leg that was maimed in a surgical accident, so many medical supplies not covered by insurance, with his ostomy and having to change it everyday as well as multiple high cost medications and cancer treatments.




This last surgery and month in the hospital has been especially hard on him and his family.    His wife taking a lot of time off work to be with Doug and take care of him in the hospital and at home as he can still barely walk or do things for himself which I know is rough on them all, including the two young boys.




every day is a struggle but he continues to fight to survive to be there for his family,  his kids, his friends.....to watch his boys grow up and try to give them a normal life.  Doug is the toughest man I know.    if people didn’t know him personally they wouldn’t even know all of his disabilities and challenges that he faces on a daily basis .........he always puts on a smile

he always gets up and goes and

he’s always there for everyone else.




He would never ask, or expect anyone to give them a thing, but I’m doing this on their behalf just to try to ease some of the stress for them.
