Doina Pavel's Medical Fund

Dear Friends and Family of Doina Pavel,

As some may already know, my mother, Doina Pavel was recently diagnosed with stage 4 atypical carcinoid lung cancer within the last month. This diagnosis was an extreme surprise to our family as few signs and symptoms led to the devastating news. My mother experienced cancer complications before being diagnosed, resulting in a five-day stay at Hartford Hospital. During this time, we learned that her cancer had spread from her lung to local lymph nodes and to her brain. Most of you know Doina as a genuine, kindhearted, spunky, hardworking woman. To me, she is the strongest person I have ever known. One of the most challenging concepts she has had to grapple with since the diagnosis is that she will not be able to continue working. Doina has been an Aesthetician in the West Hartford community for over 30 years. She has impacted countless lives throughout her many years in the industry that will never be forgotten. Doina has gotten immense joy from her business over the years, allowing her to connect and share her passion through her work. Unfortunately, due to the intensity of her treatment plan, my mother has made the difficult decision to close Skin Care by Doina to focus on her immediate health. She has begun her treatment program, which includes radiation and chemotherapy for the next 14 weeks. We, as a family, have set up this GoFundMe to help offset the cost of medical expenses and lack of financial income during this difficult time.
