Hi my name is Ash and like a lot of you folks out there I value precious life and quality of life that we can give to our animals. Having spent majority of life in Australia, I decided to take a break in the Himalayas, which gave me 2 striking contrasts of the beautiful landscape but also the ground reality of the condition of the stray animals.
Manali Strays is an NGO running tirelessly to support all animals across Himachal’s Kullu, Parvati, Lahaul and Spiti region.
They provide medical care, shelter, and rehabilitation for injured and abandoned animals, including dogs, cats, and cows.
I had to recently take one of our sick Dog Jacku who was diagnosed with very serious case of tick fever/Jaundice. From the diagnosis to the care they left no stone unturned to support us even coming home to nurse a sick dog who needed urgent care.
Whilst these services are so readily available in Australia, this is unfortunately not the case in Himalayas. The shortage of Vets and ground reality is very disheartening.
I am raising funds for 3 different rescue groups Manali Strays, Himalayantails and house of indie paws that are always in need of funds to continue doing the stellar work to rescue, nurse and care for these sick animals.
Every dollar goes a long way, where the funds will be distributed for Manali strays and Himalayantails to clear a large Vet Bill and for house of indie paws to create a permanent shed
