Dogs Love Rivers
Dog Bag Stations with custom signage
Dogs provide their owners with unselfish love and loyalty. Here, our canine friends and companions also offer a way to keep swimming playgrounds cleaner. Dogs can teach humans a lot as it turns out. Wherever you live, especially in the Ohio Valley, know that dogs impact your life with their joy and tireless love. What started in Columbus may not stay in Columbus, but sorta new is also one step at a time. Your donation will go 100% towards self-serve bag stations on Columbus Ohio area rivers. These rivers include Scioto, Olentangy, Big Darby and Big Walnut Creek. Columbus waterways are not the cleanest and it's no worse to pickup in the river than what has always gone in dog bags for years. Litter pickup stations herein referred to as Boat Bag Stations [altered signage] will be placed alongside these waterways similar to the Dog Bag Stations everyone is familiar with.
Donations of $30 plus will be sent a T-Shirt or $45 for a 2 sided T-Shirt with proceeds going to this worthwhile effort. Proceeds will be used to purchase Boat Bag Stations and present monies to local charity and wildlife conservation groups for their installation. Our organisation has found that kayaker, canoeists among other paddlers and boaters often clean up waterways during recreational trips. Just as with Dog Waste, it’ll help to have a bag to pickup after the litter or a rain storm. Parks know all about dog bag stations from how to install, maintain, refill and most importantly siting the stations at a proper location. Thank you for supporting cleaner central Ohio waterways whether through donations or picking up during your boat trip or shoreline visit.
Our story. Friends were planning on gathering to cleanup the Scioto River in downtown CBUS, Columbus Ohio. We were planning on doing a traditional waterway cleanup in the Spring of 2020, then Covid-19 happened. We still wanted to cleanup the area rivers and the idea of Boat Bag Stations was born. We're confident that Parks and Recreation professionals are familiar with Dog Bag Stations, thereby Boat Bag Stations with appropriate signage and been encouraged by several area parks, universities and local cities. Boat Bag Stations feature larger pull style bags similar to store checkout bags but originally intended for large dog waste; a perfect match, courtesy of our canine companions! Our support has been unanimous since and we look forward to doing more but the effort needs every dollar available to make an impact. Your environmental donation goes very far here. One $200-$300 device is likely to clean the waterway near it for 15-20 years!! Any donation of $300 or more can purchase their own device and have it placed at location of their choosing (following local P&R approval). You'll also get mention every year on an Earth Day Honor Roll.
Rivers, Lakes and Streams where devices may be purchased for include :
