Hi everyone, I’m Nat; I’ve recently just spent the last month volunteering with The Mighty Roar in Sri Lanka at their very own dog sanctuary.

We are looking for your help to raise funds for the beautiful dogs who live at TMR in Sri Lanka permanently due to disabilities, as well as 60+ street dogs who are fed by volunteers daily.

Buster is a beautiful dog who was unfortunately run over leading to him losing the use of both his back legs. He has such a loving personality, and is still full of life; a dream of ours (and I’m sure his!) is to raise enough money to look into getting him some wheels so he can regain the freedom of being his old self. He will sadly live at the sanctuary forever, but having more mobility would give him a new lease of life, where he could enjoy getting around with more ease within the sanctuary as well as running around on his daily beach walks.

Another huge goal for The Mighty Roar would be to introduce a neutering programme. Sri Lanka has over 4 million stray dogs, and the only way to stop that number growing is to neuter dogs in the local area and within the sanctuary. Street dog births lead to many puppy deaths, as well as poor conditions for the mother and puppies safety.

It costs as little as £25 to neuter one dog, which can be safely performed by local vet teams.

The TMR team have been running the dog sanctuary for nearly 3 years, and the help they provide within the local area has grown immensely; from vaccinating dogs to prevent rabies, taking in dogs for cancer treatment, treating mange, providing a safe space for disabled dogs and puppies to grow and so much more.

I have always had a huge passion for dogs, and spending time in Sri Lanka has really opened my eyes to some of the devastating factors third world countries face when it comes to animal care. If you could spare some change to help create a better life in the sanctuary and on the streets, the dogs will have much longer, happier, and healthier lives.
