A fundraiser for our employees:
As you know due the COVID-19 shutdown all non-essential businesses in NYC had to shutter their doors. DOGMA was established in 2016 and has seen phenomenal growth in its young years. Due to the shutdown we had to let go of all employees. 25 people in total. It is a sad time for us all to see our DOGMA family suffer under these circumstances.
DOGMA services up to 75 dogs a day with doggy daycare, grooming and overnight boarding. Not only are the two leggeds suffering from this COVID-19, the four leggeds are missing out on being with their furry friends in a loving environment.
We’ve asked our employees to apply for unemployment insurance. We have helped as much as we can and just sent our last payroll out. We hear that the unemployment office is overwhelmed and most of our employees cannot get their applications completed due to system/technical errors. We’ve also called the NY State Governor's office to help us get our employees' applications expedited. They said that someone will call us back in a week to ten days..
We are making sure that our employees are taken care of during this crisis so that when we get the green light to open our doors again, we can call back our employees and offer them their jobs back.
So many of our clients have already reached out and offered help. We are grateful for that and unfortunately we need more. 100% of all donations will go directly to our employees and employee operations. DOGMA is well known in the West Village community as a friendly, clean environment for dogs. We believe that is due to our wonderful staff that has shown the biggest heart. It is our turn to show our employee that friends of DOGMA have a big and loving heart.
