MAXINE – LEFT BEHIND WHEN FAMILY EVACUATED
Her “family” cared enough for themselves to evacuate when Hurricane Milton came, but she apparently wasn’t worth saving. They put her in the street and when a bystander asked about the dog, they said we are leaving, you can have her. Just like that, she was discarded like trash. This good Samaritan didn’t want a dog, but took her in and sheltered her from the storm, then called us. Great example of the evil and the good in humans. She will be better off now that she is safe. She appears to have been overbred and has what appears to be urine burns all over her belly and legs, likely confined for long periods of time in her own waste. We will do all that is needed to heal her and find her a home where she will be loved for the rest of her life.
