Animals of the Unhoused Dog Coat Drive 2024

Donation protected
Dear Caring People,

My name is Lynn Madison. I have advocated and helped animals of the unhoused since 1999 by raising awareness and funds for veterinary care and dog coats.

Last year, because of your kindness and generosity, we raised $3,615! That was absolutely fantastic! Approximately 300 dog coats were given to agencies and individuals helping the unhoused and their animal companions.
Here are just a few examples of agencies and individuals receiving dog coats to hand out to our unhoused for their animal companion:

Clyde - veterinarian with Elica Health Centers who provide medical care for our unhoused and veterinary care for their animals.
Jenna - HOAP (Front St. Shelter program outreaching to our unhoused and their animals.)
Davis Community Meals - Day shelter for our unhoused. They also provide dog/cat food and contact me should an animal need veterinary care.
Individuals who outreach to our unhoused.

I know you have seen our unhoused and their animal companion walking in the cold and rain and it makes you so sad. It makes me sad as well which is why I ask you to please consider donating to my dog coat drive. I am very particular about the type of dog coat that I purchase for them because they are in the elements 24/7. After much research, I found the best coat which is waterproof and flannel backed. With you donation, I can buy dog coats that keep them warm and dry during the winter/rainy months ahead.

Please, please forward this GoFundMe fundraiser to your family and friends and let's reach $4,000 this year!!

To make a difference in an already difficult, hard life is such a gift. Thank you advance for yours.
For the animals,

out into the community soon because it is really getting cold at night.

Life is very difficult for the unhoused as well as their animal companion. They are in the cold and rain often with no shelter. Knowing this, I have had a dog coat drive for the animals of the unhoused for several years. I give the dog coats to organizations who outreach to our unhoused and their animal companion like HOAP which is based at Front Street Shelter, Clyde, who is a veterinarian with Elica, Davis Community Meals and individuals who help the unhoused in the Sacramento, CA. area.

All funds donated will be used to buy waterproof/flannel backed dog coats which work best for dogs who are in the elements every day. Cost for dog coats range from $25-$35.

We have given out several dog coats so far but there are so many animals who still need a dog coat to keep warm and dry.

You and I raised $3,500 last year! It was unbelievable and so appreciated!

Will you please donate to my GoFundMe page and please, please share with others so our goal of $4,000 can be met.

Thank you all for your kind hearts,

Lynn Madison
