My name is Vicki and Quanto is my fur baby. On Monday January 27, 2025 we were walking in our neighborhood and a a dog ran out of an apartment building and across an intersection and attacked us unprovoked. It took a good samaritan with a night stick to pry open the jaws from its grip on Q’s leg. Quanto was in surgery for 45 minutes to clean and dress all her wounds,
I also had to go to the hospital and have my hands treated including a broken finger. I’m not allowed to be at work for minimum of 2 weeks now. I’ve been to the surgeon and I don’t require surgery on my finger! Now it’s just waiting for it to heal along with all the lesions on my hands.
Quanto had another vet visit over the weekend think it was just a follow up but we ended up back at the Emergency and she was sedated again with concerns with her leg swelling, discolouration of her skin in her groin and some liquid leaking from one of the wounds.. after they where able to look at everything they where happy all her skin was healthy and healing the wind was actually left open to drain and a bit of adjustment the drain tub is now draining more fluid and her swelling has gone down. Still a long road ahead
The money raised will go towards her vet bills currently sitting over $3,000 but they are concerned about her ACL on that leg but we have to wait for it to heal more.
The money will also help financially as I’m not able to work due to my hand injuries.
