My good friend Ashley has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, breast cancer. She’s only 37 years old and has five kids ages 17-4. Recent testing has revealed it’s an estrogen and progesterone positive and HER2 positive type of cancer.
This means on top of a double mastectomy, she will also need a partial hysterectomy and will be put into early menopause to suppress the hormones which are causing the cancer to grow.
Each appointment Ashley has to go to is over 140 miles round trip, and in the next couple weeks she will have a minimum of 7 appointments for PET scans, more testing to see just how invasive the cancer is, and then her port placement. These appointments will cost almost $400 in gas alone, not counting all the other costs associated with the treatment.
Ashley’s family is in need of donations for transportation, as well as quick and easy meals for the family while Ashley is being treated. On top of all that are extra expenses due to her surgeries and treatment.
Ashley’s chemo treatments will cause hair loss and the double mastectomy will require special garments and equipment for recovery. This family is living off a limited budget and needs all the blessings we can provide during this rough time.
Ashley is such a caring and devoted mom and friend. She’s put so much good into this world and deserves all the support she can get during this time. She would do anything for her friends and family, and would give a stranger the shirt off her back. Her main concern through this entire process has been how it will affect her family, and is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever met. Her husband is a disabled veteran and he and Ashley support their family on a very limited budget that is already tight. They’re in need of any support we can spare, every little bit would be considered a blessing in this situation and much appreciated. If you would like to send payments directly to avoid the fees being taken out please leave a comment and I can give you her payment information. I know this family will really appreciate any help and donations given during this stressful time in their lives.
