Dodson Avenue House Fire
Don protégé
Yesterday morning, a little after 9, I received a phone call that my house, in which not even an hour prior, I just woke up and left for work as my kids slept soundly, had caught on fire. At first, I was in disbelief as I sped through downtown Chattanooga, until I arrived at our new house (two weeks into our own home) which was engulfed in flames and pouring smoke out of the busted windows. I had to park 5 houses down and ran up to find my kids outside playing in the fire hose water running down the hill, and firemen rushing into our home with hoses and yelling and beeping of their gear. Unfortunately, we ended up losing a majority of our belongings we just got, and all of our clothes and furniture. The fire department ruled the home uninhabitable after the flames tore through our hard work and dedication.
We ask help from the community for donations of any kind, and we ask for help from our community to get us back up on our feet. We never thought in a million years our home would burn up, nor that we'd be on the news channel because we were displaced and now in a hotel. We appreciate anything and everything possible! Please share around and if you have anything—clothes, shoes, furniture, etc.—please let us know as soon as possible.
