Hey y'all, my name is Cat and I’m here trying to raise money to help support my sister's cat!

Dorian was brought into the animal hospital I worked at back in 2022 as a stray, and he had a few little sniffles and a huge heart! The person who found him couldn’t keep him, and it was a time in my sister Addie's life where she was looking to adopt!

I invited Addie to the hospital and as soon as we brought Dorian in, I knew it was game over.

Throughout their first few months together, I saw them frequently as the sniffles weren’t improving, so we did everything we could.

After a few months of back and forth, the lead DVM at the time said that some cats just “have the sniffles and as long as he’s breathing well, eating, and drinking, there’s not much more medically to pursue.”

After that visit, Dorian didn’t get worse, but he also didn’t get any better.

Fast forward to the last year or so, where Dorian’s symptoms have dramatically increased and his quality of life has been affected by the endless snot and sniffles he’s been facing.

Addie and her partner are his best caretakers, ensuring he gets all the vet care he needs (to the detriment of their own health care), in and out of the vets multiple times weekly for the last few months, with no real answers, and doing everything they can to find a solution to his discomfort.

Addie has been pursuing a specialist and a scope to ensure no polyp in his nasal cavity for several months, and has been saving, but the $6,000 quote, especially with him needing to be in and out of the vet so often, has been hard to save for.

And just last night, Dorian started acting weird and coughing up some foam, so he was brought into the ER and kept overnight on IV antibiotics and fluids, due to an overload of gas in his digestive system.

This cat is the sweetest thing, and my sister needs some help to continue to ensure he gets the care he needs to feel better.

Update: Dorian underwent surgery this morning to remove a polyp from his soft pallet. While we are over the moon that hopefully that was the root cause, he took longer than the vet would have liked to recover from his anesthesia, and his labs are still showing a low white blood cell count and now are showing a low red blood cell count. The vets have recommended keeping him another night to continue his IV fluids and antibiotics, and repeat his labs and x-rays to ensure nothing further is going on.

Dorian is a fighter and we want to help him fight for as long as he can!
