Dodo's Emergency Vet Cost

Donation protected
On Friday March 27, 2026 my cat Dodo (Shadow) fell ill. We had to rush him to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital to be seen.
They examined Dodo and discovered he has a blockage in his bladder/urethra. Left untreated this causes death usually within 24 hours. Had we not brought him in we would have lost him.

Dodo is just over 5 years old. Born January 19, 2021 we adopted him in January of 2022. He had been living with a single mother of 2 little girls in a small apartment and he was "too much" for the mom.
The day he came to us was a JOY - though he was in fact a bit "much" but he was a 1 year old big black cat - He was just a baby! Rambunctious is the word. A lot ofnrough claw and teeth playing. He had no outlet for his energies. He was the lone pet in our house until September of 2023 when we adopted another kitty named Ollie (8 weeks at that time) and dog Cookie - a Boston Terrier (12 weeks).
Dodo was a changed man! Having a little brother and a weird sister (not a cat) to play and share the house with transformed him into a sweet, gentle boy who loves belly rubs.

The estimated cost for Dodo's treatment and hospitalization is high/low: $4,265.33/$3,946.47.
They typically will only begin treatment once they receive a 75% deposit (which would have been $3,200). We were only able to put $800 down in the moment but they DID start treatment.

It is now Saturday March 28 and I just got a call updating his condition. He is responding well and we hope the catheter can be removed tomorrow. We will be visiting him this afternoon.
I dont want to ask for help but the reality of the situation is that I dont have the money. In the moment I am able to rely on a couple of people but I have to pay them back as soon as possible. So here I am - asking the World for help. I love my sweet baby boy. By a miracle he is being taken care of. The Emergency Vet could have turned us away but they chose to help us by accepting what we could deposit and beginning his treatment.

I just want him home back playing with Ollie and Cookie; safe, happy, and healthy.
