Dodo Dramatics' Sustainability Mission
We are Dodo Dramatics! The UK's first not-for-profit puppetry theatre company dedicated to being zero-waste. And we need your help!
Our Vision: To champion unheard voices, share untold stories and promote zero-waste theatre.
Our Mission: To engage with, and educate, all age demographics across the UK by providing high-quality, educational and entertaining zero-waste historical puppetry performances.
Our Aims: To create sustainable, accessible and affordable theatre for all. To promote puppetry as a viable art form. To educate through dramatic interpretations of alternative history, moral reasoning and workshops encouraging creativity.
Last year, we entertained at Winchester Hat Fair with our comedy play Queen of the East - a tale of the life and death of Cleopatra II - the last queen to ever rule Egypt. This year, we're planning a tour to various theatre and arts festivals throughout the UK - where many will hear and see a story they have heard before - though not like this.
But we can't do it without you!
As we are a not-for-profit, all of the money we raise goes back into the activities of the company. If you could give anything towards our project, it will go a long way in ensuring we can make it a reality and that'll involve:
- Hiring Actors
- Funding Transport
- Keeping the team well fed
- Ensuring we have a place to stay
- Covering insurance and admin costs
