Dodger’s Field Initiative

The Dodger’s Field Initiative is a group composed of community stakeholders that live, work and play in the area and have an interest in preserving and improving Dodger’s field for their specific purposes.

The Stakeholders are as followed:

Restigouche East Minor Baseball:
Our regions minor baseball association has gone from having 50 kids in the associations first year in 2017, to having over 100 kids as of the summer of 2019. Baseball has been growing in the area and the numbers prove it. With the hope of having a Bantam aged (U15) team this year for the first time, Dodgers Field would be the field needed to be used.

Dalhousie Dodger’s Baseball Club:
The longest operating adult competitive team in northern NB. The team plays in the Miramichi Valley Senior 'A' Baseball League. Typical home games on Friday nights usually draw some big crowds.

Challenger Baseball:
The Challenger Baseball program is a program for people of all ages with cognitive and/or physical disabilities to play baseball at a level structured to their abilities.

Synergi Physio:
The Synergi Physio community physiotherapy clinic located at Recreaplex, is focused on chronic pain and illness and the clinic also works with Worksafe clients. The clinic would use the field to conduct therapeutic activities.

Timbits Baseball:
Timbits Baseball introduces kids as young as 2 years old to baseball twice a week and run  by Earl Williams.

Holistic Homeostasis:
A community business/studio offering a variety of yoga classes.

Our goal is to raise the $40000 needed to get Dodgers Field functional for the Spring of this year. The biggest cost is getting the backstop replaced. This is Dalhousie's last remaining baseball field and Dalhousie has a rich history of baseball, so it would be a shame for it to end this way just as baseball is becoming increasingly more popular. Dodger's Field has always been a popular community spot and the upgrades needed to make  the field  functional has a good potential to really bring the community together with all the different groups and businesses looking to use the field. So please help out! Every little bit helps us reach our goal.
