What's Next? was planned as a year-long journey into the lives and experience of leaders, organizers, and activists of the progressive movement. We are preparing to wrap up that journey, focusing on the growth of the movement over the last six months.
The official schedule for the second half of filming is now live and we are excited to visit the states that we missed while also revisiting activists and organizers who we spoke to last year.
We are going to show its growth and show how the movement inspired by the Bernie Sanders is keeping its momentum and what you can do to help.
Not only do we speak to organizers inside the democratic party, we are speaking to members of all parties and independents, alike. Tackling issues such as Election Integrity, civics in our schools, and how these and other ideas are affecting our every day lives.
We're hitting the road in the first week of may.
First, there will be filming in LA and then a small trip to San Diego, lots of very exciting things happening in regards to holding violators during the primary accountable... and a brief trip in Santa Ana.

From there I have 2-3 weeks to wrap up filming, I am leaving this open to revisiting people I have already interviewed last year or to interviews I missed when I was last on the east coast....

The progressive movement shook the Democratic establishment this primary season with the entrance of the Grassroots Campaign for Bernie Sanders. After the Convention, the movement fractured into splinter groups with neither Sanders nor the DNC able to reign in the progressive voters. With a vicious primary, but a picturesque Convention, everything should be fine...
Traveling the country, Don Ford interviewed organizers, delegates, elected officials, and party leaders to get a clearer idea of what really happened in the primary season and during the convention. While following various issues important to the progressive movement, the project is shedding light on the issues these activists and politicians are facing as they attempt to help move the country forward and improve the quality of life for the average American.
After 150 interviews across 35 states, Don settled in finally home on Nov 8th after 4 months on the road. To watch Donald Trump overwhelmingly be elected the 45th President of the United States.
So, what happened? How did everyone get it so wrong?
And, What's Next?
The goal was to capture the progressive perspective without filter and offer them the opportunity to share what they've accomplished, how they accomplished it, what will maintain the momentum, and What's Next?
But, now we're headed back on the road to talk to the progressives organizing the resist movement felt nationwide. The movement has grown from a fledgling uprising campaign to a national attitude toward corruption in our elected officials.
Can progressives unite under one banner again? Are Trump's supporter disillusioned by his inability to hold his lofty campaign promises? Can progressives bring them to their cause to make a larger majority? Will the DNC do what it takes to survive by building a coalition of support?
There are big questions ahead of us and no one is sure...

Write up from the first half of filming...
We're traveled America to meet with grassroots leaders, activists, delegates, and politicians while capturing the American perspective toward community, activism, and government so others can both follow in their footsteps and join them if possible.
We've come to the realization that we are in a rare space of history where no one is really sure what is going to happen. Independents and Progressive Democrats are equal parts inspired and confused, but the general consensus is that we have to keep the momentum and find a way to keep people inspired.
We are in the process of creating a cohesive strategy that will allow us to not only move forward but excel.
We will be updated by sharing clips and photos along the way. We want you all to see how your neighbor states are uniting to not only encourage one another but also to brainstorm solutions to further the movement.
We do have immediate hard costs of gas, and food, but have also accepted many soft donations and have stayed with over 25 people who have opened their homes to us.
