Documentary Thesis on Chicago Migrant Crisis

My name is Seth Karall, and I am passionate about telling Chicago stories. I am working on my senior thesis where I am covering how communities have responded to the influx of migrants into Chicago. Primarily, I will be following volunteers from the Police Station Response Team working in the Austin/Oak Park community as they assist asylum seekers. Volunteers in this community and others around Chicago work tirelessly to integrate asylum seekers into their community by running errands, providing food and shelter, and finding medical assistance, among other things.

The stories of these volunteers and migrants need to be shared, and this film will do that.

I will be traveling back and forth from my school, Chapman University in California, to Chicago, on three separate occasions. I will be handling many of the responsibilities and key crew positions to create this project, so I am in need of financial support. Donations to this project will be used to help with the costs of travel and other production expenses.

Thank you!
