The purpose of this fundraising is to make possible the production of a documentary film of a social nature, focused on the process of self-organization and the political struggle of the migrant workers from the shanty towns in Almería (Southeast corner in Spain). We will show the interactions and demonstrations initiated by this group to conquer fair labour rights, decent living conditions, legal status and, above all, to transform a reality that has been oppressive for more than 30 years. These are diverse, embodied problems that will be explained from the position that migrants occupy within the model of intensive agricultural production: inside the plastic-made greenhouses.
As an independent documentary film that attempts to show objectively a crude reality, the search for independent funding is essential. The funds raised will be allocated to the most basic issues: hiring a professional staff (a camera operator, a camera assistant, a sound technician, a video editing technician), renting some materials that we need (such as microphones, spotlights, etc.) and travel expenses (although luckily we are people from the area and we will only have to move within the province).
We need to continue immediately with the recording process already started, and that´s why we make this urgent fundraising, thanking in advance everyone who, according to their possibilities and their social commitment, can help others to make serious, informed and independent political documentaries. La finalidad de esta recaudación es la realización de una película documental de carácter social centrada en el proceso de autoorganización y lucha política de lxs trabajadorxs migrantes de los asentamientos chabolistas de Almería. Articulaciones y manifestaciones iniciadas por este colectivo para conquistar derechos laborales justos, condiciones de vida dignas, estatus legal y, sobre todo, transformar una realidad opresiva por más de 30 años. Problemáticas diversas, encarnadas, que se explicarán dentro de la posición que las personas migrantes ocupan en el modelo de producción agrícola intensiva bajo plásticos.
Como película documental independiente, que busca mostrar una realidad cruda, objetiva, la financiación independiente es esencial. Los fondos irán destinados a las cuestiones más básicas: pagar un cámara profesional, un ayudante de cámara, un profesional del sonido, un técnico de edición, alquiler de algunos materiales que nos hacen falta, como micrófonos, focos, y gastos de desplazamientos (aunque por suerte somos gente de la zona y sólo nos tendremos que mover dentro de la provincia).
Necesitamos poder continuar de manera inmediata con el proceso de grabación ya iniciado, por lo que hacemos esta recaudación de carácter urgente, dando las gracias de antemano a todas las personas que desde sus posibilidades y su compromiso social puedan ayudar a hacer documentales políticos serios, fundamentados y sin ataduras. Das Ziel dieses Growdfunding ist die Realisation eines Dokumentarfilms mit sozialem Charakter und Schwerpunkt auf dem Prozess der Selbstorganisation und des politischen Kampfes der Migranten der Elendsviertel (slums) von Almeria. Es geht darum die Aussagen und Demonstrationen dieses Kollektivs für bessere und gerechtere Arbeitsrechte sowie für würdige Lebensbedingungen und einen legalen Status sichtbar zu machen, aber vor Allem um diese Realität der Unterdrückung der letzten 30 Jahre zu verändern. Unterschiedliche Problemansätze werden aus der Position der Arbeiter in der Intensivlandwirtschaft unter Plastik erläutert.
Für einen unabhängigen Dokumentarfilm, der eine harte Lebensrealität wiederspiegelt ohne dabei ein Blatt vor den Mund zunehmen, ist eine unabhängige Finanzierung von grosser Bedeutung. Das Kapital soll der Finanzierung der wesentlichen Fragen zugute kommen: Löhne für Kamaramann, Kamaraassistent, profesionellen Tontechniker und Herausgeber, sowie zur Mietung von wichtigen Materialien, wie Mikrofone, Scheinwerfer und für eventuelle Reisekosten (zum Glück wohnen wir in der Gegend und bewegen uns hauptsächlich innerhalb der Provinz).
Um unsere schon angefangenen Aufnahmen des Dokumentarfilms möglichst bald fortzusetzen haben wir dieses Growdfunding zügig ins Leben gerufen und wir möchten uns bei all den Menschen schon im Vorraus bedanken, die gemäss ihrer Möglichkeiten und ihres sozialen Kompromisses helfen können ernsthaft fundierte und politisch unabhängige Dokumentarfilme umzusetzen.
