Specialized in covering urban violence, human rights, and environmental issues. My work is focused on people from the Brazilian Northeast and how they deal with the constant changes in the urban and rural environments in this decade. My clients Include the Deutsche Welle, NPR, VICE, Folha de São Paulo, Zero Hora... I'm also one of the recipients of the Yunghi Grant 2018 for my work about the populations struggling with the lack of access to water in the Brazilian northeast.
The Amazon Rainforest is burning. Brazil’s space research center, Inpe, has detected 72,843 fires so far this year – an 84 percent rise compared to 2018. The hashtag #PrayForAmazonas was one of the trending topics on Twitter worldwide, ranking first.
As a journalist, I'm planning to Travel to the States of Mato-Grosso and Amazonas to report and document the fires and how they are impacting the indigenous people, animals and the general Eco-system of the region. I'm planning a 10-day trip, where I will follow the firefighters in the forest, the biologists hurrying to save the local fauna and the impacts of the fire in the native populations.
I'm here to ask for help to get to the amazon, This campaign was created to gather funds that will support my food and traveling expenses, The total amount was set in USD1100, half of the money is for the air tickets, the other half will be used on food and transportation by ground as well as the accommodations in the state of Amazonas.
My good friend Zoe sullivan was set as Beneficiary since i cant withdraw the money from Brazil.
