DOCTOR'S OFFICE is a short documentary film (5 to 20 minutes) that chronicles life in a small Pittsburgh clinic that charges $40 a visit and does not take insurance. In a neighborhood once populated by Pittsburgh's rich steel barons and now middle-class, Dr. Timothy Wong and NP Jonathan Kling treat patients for everything from bad cuts and ankle sprains to high blood pressure and headaches. They share the wisdom and insights they've gathered in their quest to offer Americans a different kind of health care.
The U.S. spends $6 trillion, or 20% of GDP, per year on health care and has worse outcomes than other rich countries. At the heart of the problem are hospitals and insurance companies overbilling citizens, businesses, and government agencies.
DOCTOR'S OFFICE is the story of two men fighting to make a difference with a different model.
Conceived by John W. Miller (Moundsville, The Last Manager).
