This page is setup for friends, family, and the general public, to help raise funds for Lylton "Doc" Freeman, as he is currently on a waiting list to receive a lifesaving, double lung transplant, through VCU Medical Center.
For the past 20 years, Doc has worked for Jani-King of Hampton Roads. During this time, he has touched the lives of everyone that has met him with his professionalism, his willingness to help others, and can do attitude. It may sound cliché, but Doc is the sort of guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Most of all, he is just a great guy and a friend to all that know him. Doc and his family are residents of Suffolk, Virginia.
Since August 2016, Doc has been unable to work due to a deteriorating condition related to his lungs. Recently, Doc and his family were informed that he will require a double lung transplant. As you might imagine, this is a major surgery and it comes with major out of pocket costs. Luckily, health insurance will cover the majority of the cost associated with the surgery; however, 10% of the costs still need to be covered by the family.
The estimate costs for this type of surgery is $800,000, meaning Doc still needs $80,000 himself. Money raised here will help Doc and his family cover the cost of the surgery, medications, food, transportation, and other expenses and bills that his family will incur. The money for this lifesaving surgery needs to be raised as soon as possible, as the procedure is likely to happen within the next few months.
