This is a fundraiser in dedication of Lyn Ellis, who was an inspirational woman. A remarkable lady born in Bradford, who lived her whole married life in ‘old Lincolnshire’. She made it her mission to allow other people access to first class medical equipment after fighting her own illness.
Through her activities, she raised over ?227,000 (as at 20.05.87) for Pilgrim Hospital for DOCATEF (Detection of Cancer and Treatment Equipment Fund) and was justly rewarded by such honours as the British Empire Medal, June 1987 and being the only woman to be made a Freeman of the Borough of Boston.
Lyn Ellis is my nana who raised all this money without the use of internet and did this through her own journey fighting alongside many others. I want to be able to recreate her strength and determination to help build the funds to support those who are fighting the battle today and for the future. Every penny counts.
The £5000 raised is the for the application to become an official charity. Then money raised will go towards equipment need for your hospitals.
