Support Doc Acklin

We recently received the news that Doc Acklin has been diagnosed with Stage II, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. For those of you who are familiar with the any type of cancer the battle is not an easy one. Our family would first like to say that the support we have already received from our friends, family and community is undeniably appreciated. We could not do this without you.
Anyone who knows Doc, knows that asking for help is not something he likes to do. I have set this fund up for my father as the debt associated with fighting this type, or any type, of cancer will be astronomical. Our primary goal is to get Doc well so he can continue to do what he loves, serving his community.
Doc has been a staple in the community of Las Cruces, NM for many years. He was the head Athletic Trainer at Mayfield High School for 30 years. He taught countless high school and college level athletic training students during his time there. He took care of virtually every injured athlete at Mayfield in the last 30 years. He served as the New Mexico Athletic Trainers Association President from 2006-2012. He is a member and Compliance Officer for the Athletic Trainers Practice Board and currently the parlimentarian for the NMATA. He has been essential in passing healthcare and athletic training related legislation and remains an advocate for healthcare policy in New Mexico.
Since retiring from Mayfield he has not slowed down one bit. He has continued his serve others as an Athletic Trainer at Del Valle Physical Therapy where he routinely brags about how many patients he sees in a day.
Doc is the husband to Jonann. Father to Heather, Courtney and Dustin. Grand father to Ashley, Zack and Madison. Doc has selflessly spent his entire adult life helping others with the utmost integrity. He has been a mentor and inspiration to many in his profession. As difficult as it is for him to admit, it is our turn to take care of Doc.
We respectully ask anyone who has the means to do so, to please help us help Doc get through this trying time. It can be in the form of a kind word or a few dollars if you have it. If you know him personally, a meal or some yardwork would equally be appreciated.
On behalf of the entrie Acklin Family, Thank you and God bless.
