Greetings, and welcome to the crowdfunding page for Do You Wanna Dance? A Glasgow based, punk/drama short film.

My name is Jules Che Thurlow, I'm a 19 year old filmmaker, and myself and my crew are going to be shooting this film in early-mid July 2025. As director and current producer, I'm handling getting your donations into the budget of the film. But before I tell you why we need that money, let me tell you a bit more about the project itself:

The Project

Do You Wanna Dance? is a gritty, modern-day romance set in Glasgow. It follows Jeannie, a poet, and Richie, a punk singer — two outsiders searching for connection in a world that often leaves them behind. Both are deeply obsessed with the NYC punk era of the 1970s, respectively idolizing Patti Smith and Richard Hell.

Their relationship is messy, intimate, and real — and unfolds against the backdrop of loud guitars, whispered poems, and Glasgow’s haunting city streets.

The film explores:

• Existential angst
• Outsider identity
• And the aching nostalgia of feeling more at home in a time you never lived through

It’s a personal love letter to punk, poetry, and the heartbreak of being born out of sync with your spirit.
