10 years ago we named our company Do The Extraordinary, because we believe in people. The power to be the change. To stand up for what we believe in and stand up against the things that are wrong.
The hate, chaos, and destruction that came after a peaceful protest, that we believe and stand with, devastated us on Saturday Night. Our windows were broken out and all of our merchandise was looted. Merchandise that was all handcrafted upstairs in our workshop. On the heels of trying to figure out how to come back from the Covid closure, we were looking forward to opening soon. But now, we have nothing left in our store to sell, even if we did open. We were informed by our Insurance Company that none of the damage or loss was covered under our policy. What took us 10 years to build, was devastated in an evening. We need your help.
We've built DTE on the backs of people who believe as we do. That believe in local business and handcrafted things. We will continue to do so. Since Saturday, many have reached out and asked how they can help. We've created this account as a means to do that. THANK YOU for the love and support, and being a part of our come back story!
We stand with all the people who stand up against prejudice and racism, and refuse to stay quiet or look the other direction. Like so many others we are angered and our hearts ache for the Floyd family, the Taylor Family, the Martin Family, and countless others effected by this sickening tragedy, and the racism that, sadly, still exists in our world. We refuse to let the destruction and violence of the few, drown out the message of those standing up for what is right. We are better than that and we have a lot of work to do to see the change we want in our world.
