We are coming together to help the family of our friend and colleague Jon Sloyer. Jon has been a part of our workplace community for almost 30 years. Through the years we remember Jon for his friendship and humor but he is known best for his dedication to both his work and his family.
When not in the office you can find Jon on the field, in the dugout or in the stands coaching or cheering for his sons Danny and Jackson. Jon's real joy has always been spending time with the boys and Melissa. He truly was proud to share many of his Dad stories with all of us. We heard about sports and academic accomplishments, what music the boys were performing as well as his new experiences raising teen age boys.
Jon always looked forward to his annual summer family trip to the beach where he and his brothers along with their mom would gather for the week with their families. As a graduate of the University of Delaware, Jon follows the Blue Hens football team closely and continues to remind us that he is a lifetime fan of the Miami Dolphins.
As we reflect on these happy times we remember that Jon has also fought through and overcome some serious medical issues. Late this summer Jon was diagnosed with cancer and underwent some pretty aggressive treatments. Unfortunately those treatments aren't working. While Jon continues to fight, he is in hospice care and we really want to help his family during this difficult time.
We believe any donation, no matter what the size will help Melissa and the boys in the difficult months ahead.
