Do It for Deshon!

The unexpected death of a child is unfathomable. A piece of you taken out of this world too soon. My sister Charlett, lost a part of herself on Saturday January 21, 2023, when her gentle giant, 13-year-old son Deshon Dubose life was tragically taken away as an innocent victim to gun violence as he and his friends were simply waiting outside of a skating rink for their ride home after a fun night of roller skating.

A high achieving honor roll student at Drew Charter School, a dedicated and devoted community volunteer at Joel's food distribution events, a beloved son, an amazing brother, and a friend to all. Deshon never met a stranger and had a passion to serve his community and always help others. Very mild mannered, respectful, humble and caring. Deshon’s smile and laugh were infectious and he was deeply loved by family, friends, teachers, schoolmates, his community, all that knew him and he deeply loved them all back. Deshon will be terribly missed. And as the days are growing longer and sadder without him, his family is still struggling to process this unimaginable tragedy.

All the prayers, love, affection, calls, visits, texts, acts of kindness and support are very much appreciated and needed. Please keep it coming. Charlett and family have a long road of uncertainty ahead of them.
