My close friend that I have known since childhood has been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer on September 27, 2019.
The reason for this support fund is that Dan had started a new job position with a company early July 2019,and was 2 weeks away (October 15, 2019) from being eligible for company benefits which would have included short and long term disability as well as prescription medication coverage.
Dan had a P.E.T. test completed early October to determine if the cancer had spread to other areas of his body. Fortunately it has not, which then meant he could begin a regimented radiation and chemotherapy program.
His treatments began November 4 and are daily Monday to Friday until January 2020 with Chemotherapy on Wednesdays.
With this treatment complete, surgery can then occur to remove the residual tumour.
Pending the result of the surgery the fact remains, Dan is without any way to earn an income for what will be a long road, and with no long term disability income or health benefit plan, Dan needs help and support to manage daily living expenses, food, rent, transportation to and from the hospital, and what is becoming very expensive medications. In home care is will also be necessary. Your support will undoubtedly be helpful for his situation.
On another even more close and personal note, unfortunately earlier in February of this year Dan's father had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
Dan's father passed away March of this year, and his loss is still very gripping to the family.
Thank you very much for any support you can offer,It is greatly appreciated.
