Help Naser Make It Through His Brain Surgery
Donation protected
Hello, thank you for taking the time to read this. We are a couple of moms who have kids at Sunset High School.
Life can be hard sometimes and it’s easy to feel alone and to struggle through your day. Can you imagine going through your day, while also worrying about surviving brain surgery and not loosing your home? This is, in fact, what our son's friend's family is facing.
Meet Naser Abualrub. He is the manager at Din Tai Fung, an amazing restaurant at Washington Square mall. His wife, Lama, works at the Beaverton School District. She helps out kids with special needs at Whitford Middle School. His oldest son, Kusai, is currently attending OSU and Naser provides financial support for him. His youngest son, Noor, is our son’s friend. He is a senior at Sunset High School. He is graduating and starting school next year.
Naser found out he had a brain tumor that has been growing aggressively. He will be undergoing surgery to remove the tumor on Dec 28th and having a second surgery on Jan 2, 2023. This will set off a chain of events that will leave this family in a terrible financial situation. Naser will be able to use the Paid Leave Oregon program .The program covers 65% of his wages for three months. Naser is facing a longer, four month long recovery period, with uncertainty on the results of the surgery and his health. Along with his recovery, he is also facing a forseeable shortfall of money to cover house payments, living expenses, school expenses and medical bills.
Please consider helping this family in our community in their hour of need. If we come together we can help make a huge difference in their lives. Facing the uncertainty of a health crisis is scary enough. Having to do so, while worrying about loosing the roof over your head and not being able to keep your kids in school is overwhelming. Please pitch in $5-$100 or however much you can afford, to give this family a little peace and hope. No amount is too small. Let them know they are not alone.
All money raised will be used to make house payments, pay for living expenses, education expenses and medical bills.
Thank you for your support and please share this to help spread the word.
Sincerely,
Lillian Talwalkar and Debbie McKinley
