Family and friends, Maria needs your help.

I am making this GoFundMe on behalf of my granddaughter, Maria and her daughter. My granddaughter is a wonderful mother of two, who unfortunately has been without one for over a year now.

Based on her account of events: February 1st, 2024, was the last time Maria had her daughter. That day, the baby was at Maria's home with Maria’s two younger brothers, later with Maria's mom upstairs, and one of Maria's younger brothers downstairs with the baby.

During that time, Maria went out for a ride with her ex-boyfriend, and they at some point had an argument over who would be having the baby over that day. The ex-boyfriend ended up dropping Maria off away from her house. He then drove up to the house, walked in, and took the baby with Maria's younger brother still present.

Soon after, Maria's mom came downstairs to realize the baby was missing and saw Maria’s ex-boyfriend driving away. By then, it was too late. Later, Maria received a call from her ex saying she'd never see her daughter again. The child's whereabouts, thereafter, remained unknown.

That is, until May of 2025. We received a single image of the baby's paternal grandmother. Then, July of 2025 was the one and only time Maria saw her daughter, since the child's abduction in February 2024 . We are still in the dark regarding the child's overall well-being and location. And her ex-boyfriend still limits Maria's right to see her child.

At this point, Maria and our family members in Michigan have tried every possible route of going to the Friend of the Court, and everything has come together so far. We are almost to the finish of getting that legal support, which is Maria having a lawyer to get her child back. Free Legal aid wouldn’t help, so that's why we need your help.

There was a recent change in Maria's choice of lawyer, which decreased our original quota from $7,500 to $3,500 in retainer fees. Now, we aim to raise $1,000 as our first milestone of the new year. Our overall goal is to raise $3,500 before the end of May, to cover the Retainer Fee for the lawyer Maria needs. Or risk not getting Maria the legal representation she needs to see her daughter again. All money raised will be directly transferred from my bank account to Maria's chosen lawyer. Any additional funds will be used towards funding the case.

The first time I met the baby, I was visiting Maria in early summer in 2023 with two of my daughters. We were catching up while Maria held her baby girl at her hip. It was one of my first memories of my great-granddaughter, and I pray it won't be one of my last. Nor Maria’s. It breaks my heart knowing the child has been missing for over a year. It is one thing to have your child taken from you, with no certainty of their well-being, and then doing everything in your legal right to get them back. It is another when that last hurdle is a financial one. So, we ask everyone who can and will, to contribute to this cause. The forceful separation between a mother and child doesn't just impact our family, but families everywhere.

So please. Help Maria Reunite with her daughter.
