Loury's violin

Spende geschützt
Hi, I'm the founder of The Fuller Project for International Reporting , the women-run journalism organization that wrote about Loury and her  violin for the New York Times.

Loury's plight really brought home to us the way the war has hurt children. As a response to this story, someone is considering stepping forward to pay for her education. We are moved and now we want to use this campaign to bring music back to her life as well.

All funds will go towards getting Loury back on the path towards being a violinist and playing traditional Syrian music.  Loury needs a violin, lessons in a conservatory and help making up her $300/month salary that she will no longer earn if she goes back to school.

Ideally we would raise these funds by the summer, so the family could plan for Loury to start school in September.

Loury has been out of school for four years, and at 15 years old feels that she has no future and has lost her childhood to the t-shirt factory where she spends 10 hours a day.  This is a chance to change her life.  It would mean everything to her and the family to give her a few more years in school, to finish her studies, and to rekindle her passion for music.

We at The Fuller Project for International Reporting tell stories of women around the world. We would be incredibly touched and inspired by the opportunity to play a role in connecting Loury with a world that has not forgotten about girls like her.

Thank you so much, Christina, Founder, www.fullerproject.com
