I never thought I’d have to write something like this. But today, I’m asking for your help. Not for me, but for a dear friend who has just survived something no one should ever have to endure.

She’s a mother of three. One of her children is highly autistic and relies on her daily for specialist care, school drop-offs, and therapy appointments. She is his world, his calm and his safety net.

But recently, her own safety was shattered.

After discovering her husband was having multiple affairs, she confronted him. His response was terrifying. He beat her, choked her, and left her with black eyes and bruises all over her body, a level of violence that’s hard to put into words. He was arrested for Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) and asphyxiation.

And then... after just 10 hours in custody, he was released.

Since then, things have only worsened.

She has been left with nothing.

Because this wasn’t just physical abuse, it was coercive control. And now that he’s gone, he’s left her with no car, no savings, no access to funds and three children who need her more than ever.

Today he's taken her car, her only means of getting her autistic son to his specialist school, to his medical appointments, and to buy groceries. Public transport isn’t an option, not with a child who needs routine, safety, and structure. And especially not while she’s still covered in bruises.

She’s exhausted, traumatised and isolated. And despite reaching out for help, all she’s heard is silence. No home visits. No returned calls. No support. Nothing.

This fundraiser is to help her purchase a modest, safe vehicle, something reliable enough to transport her children and begin reclaiming the independence that was violently and systematically stripped from her.

The goal: £4,000

This will cover a second-hand car, insurance, and the basic costs of getting her back on her feet.
