Please Help my Mom Beat Pancreatic Cancer

Hi Everyone,

My name is Hyun Joo (Grace), and I am fundraising for my mom, Yun.  

It pains me to write this, but my mom was just diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer, and the cancer is spreading. Her doctors said she doesn’t have much time left. She’s only 56 years old. I am going to hope and pray that they are wrong and do everything I can to help improve those odds.

If you’ve met my mom, you know that she’s kind, silly, and extremely down to earth. When she was young, she took care of all of her younger siblings, and then devoted her life to being the best wife and mother. She is definition of selflessness. If you buy her a purse, she will return it, get a cheaper one, and spend the rest of that money on her family. That’s the kind of mom she is.

She’s spent her life taking care of others and constantly working overtime, often 6 days a week. She’s never traveled outside of the country, and her dream is to go to Hawaii.

Im not ready to lose her. She hasn’t even gotten a chance to enjoy retirement or see the world. Cancer treatments average 50k - 200k total, even with insurance. Especially if you want to do clinical trials, which is our best bet, since her doctors are saying that her cancer is currently inoperable. I wish I could support my parents on my own, but I know I can’t with my meager teacher salary.

I hate that I am asking for money, but I will do anything if it’s for my mom. If I am able to fundraise money for my mom, it will go towards medical bills, potentially surgery, clinical trials, and when she hopefully gets better, maybe she can take that dream trip to Hawaii…
