Duck's Nest Supports Cory!
Donation protected
Hello Duck's Nest Families and Alumni,
Many of you have already heard of the unfortunate news regarding our Puddle Duck teacher Cory. He has recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor. His doctors feel very positive about his prognosis and Cory has recently been exploring his treatment options. Gratefully, his current condition is not affecting his overall health or ability to be the wonderful and caring teacher that he is!
Cory has been a valued teacher at Duck's Nest for over 10 years. He has been fiercely dedicated to the Early Childhood profession, which as most know, is not a financially lucrative field. Although becoming more common, there are proportionately significantly fewer males in this profession - so we have always felt extra lucky to have him at DN. We are so appreciative of the commitment and contributions he has made to our program and the families of our community for the many years he has been with us.
With that said, he does face the reality of addressing his condition, which will include medical expenses. Some parents have asked how they can support him. Based upon his circumstances, he currently faces many co-payments for his condition's specialized procedures, as well as potential loss of income, depending upon his recovery time.
Thank you to the many parents who have already expressed their support to Cory. As information becomes more available and Cory's needs become more detailed we will keep you informed of those needs and how you can best support him.
For now, we are encouraging this most amazing community of families and friends to make a financial donation. Cory has decided to schedule his initial procedure for January. We're hoping to knock out some of the financial burden he will be facing before that time, so he can just focus on getting healthy.
Life delivers many unexpected events. Having a caring community makes such a tremendous difference during challenging times. It is moments like these that we feel very grateful to have the support of the Duck's Nest families and Staff.
Please reach out to the Duck's Nest Office ([email redacted]) or the Duck's Nest Parent Association ([email redacted]) with any questions.
