Mold Disaster

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Mashea Curran and we are raising funds to help cover costs due to an emergency. We had been gone to the Feast of Tabernacles for 10 days and when we returned our house was full of mold and uninhabitable. Just walking in the door and checking out the disaster area ourselves when we first arrived home made our little family very sick. We were not anticipating needing to eat out and paying hotel stays and buying necessary items that had been ruined inside our house by the mold. We are hoping Insurance will cover the costs to clean up the mess but we are asking for assistance from family and friends to make ends meet until then. Insurance may not cover the cost of anything at all and we have to wait until the end of the week to find out if we can get help from Insurance on cost of living and also for cleaning up the mold and testing to see where and how big of a disaster it really is. I realize in this economy we are all struggling so badly with groceries and just to get by. I hate asking for help knowing most everyone I know are going through their own struggles right now. Anything you can find to give would be incredibly helpful.

Update: 10/22/2023 . It has been 2 weeks since we returned from the Feast to find our house unlivable. i cannot express how thankful and humbled we are by your support. Some good friends have opened their home to us and we are currently playing the waiting game. God is definitely teaching us to be patient.
We are currently waiting on Insurance to let us know how much they will be covering for us. We do know that a lot of it will be out of pocket so I am increasing the amount I am asking for the mold restoration. We have gotten quotes for the damage from some companies and we are hoping to raise enough funds for them to start work once our Insurance adjuster has finished his investigation.
On the more inexpensive side, we are looking at approximately $10,000 worth of repairs including replacing dry wall and insulation, cleaning up the mold and replacing objects that cannot be cleaned as they are too thick such as porous furniture.

Update Oct 26th - Weve been out of the house since Oct 8th. Thank you everyone for food, prayers and the monetary donations. It's been a very humbling experience for all of us. We heard back from Insurance and as we suspected we will be paying out of pocket for the mold. But, thankfully it is in process now. We just need to come up with the funds to get our house fixed up again so we can finally go home. Please continue to pray for us as we go forward.

Update 11/8/23:
Its been 1 month exactly since we arrived back home and found we couldn't stay. Its been longer since we've been home since we had been gone for several days before that at the Feast.
Thanks to your prayers, support, and donations, we were able to pay half the cost to a contractor to start the work needed on our house. Barring any additional issues, they hope to have us back in our home by Thanksgiving. God has been doing some amazing things and we are so happy to share this with you.
We have currently exhausted our bank loans and now are getting small loans from different places to try to make up the difference.
Due to some amazing church family that has sacrificed so much for us we have not wanted for a place to stay and have hotel rooms booked for the next few weeks as well. We continue to ask for your prayers as we go ahead for us to come up with the additional funds to finish paying our
Contractor.
