Boomer's Emergency Surgery Fund

Please help Scott raise money for his beloved dog Boomer! Two nights ago just before bed, Boomer started dry-heaving, panting, and pacing. Scott noticed his swollen belly and rushed him to the vet ER where he was diagnosed with Gastric Dilatation Volvulus (GDV) and taken directly into emergency surgery.

GDV is a rapidly progressive life-ending disorder where the stomach flips over on itself, causing the cells of the stomach and spleen to begin dying off. The longer it lasts before treatment, the more damage that is caused; if it is not treated within a couple of hours, the result is death. There is no known reason as to why GDV happens, it is a random thing.

Scott was fortunate to catch it and quickly get him the help he needed. Boomer's stomach is bruised but likely will not have long-term damage. He is going to fully recover and live a long, happy, healthy life.

Boomer is a one-of-a-kind dog, and his stoke for life is unmatched. His passions include retrieving sticks from the river and chasing his glow in the dark chuckit ball. He is highly intelligent and makes Scott laugh daily with his goofy grin and enormous tongue. He can be ornery and mischievous, playful and sweet. He spreads joy everywhere he goes and to everyone he meets.

Boomer has been at the vet ER for two days and is projected to be there another two days. Scott is lucky that Boomer is alive and getting the care he needs, but unfortunately, the procedure and care have been costly.
