JBCC FOOD PANTRY

Our names are Guy and Janet Calvert and for the past 14 years we have run a weekly food pantry in downtown Jensen Beach, Martin County, Florida. For the first 10 years we helped an average of 200-400 people a week with free groceries. The past 2 years, the number of people in need has increased to over 1250 people each week starting with the pandemic and continuing with steadily rising food costs and inflation. These factors are putting our fixed income elderly, single income families and veterans and people who normally would not need our help in our food pantry line. We operate our pantry with no paid staff, but with 40 dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to obtain a variety of food including fresh produce, bakery, meats, dairy and non-perishable items every week.

In the past we have been able to fund our pantry through yard sales, bake and craft sales and event parking and the kind support of our friends and neighbors. We are grateful for this.

However, we will not be able to continue our mission without your immediate financial help. Please consider donating to our food pantry so we may continue to serve the community . No one should have to choose between paying for gas , rent , medicine or food. With your financial support we can provide food to those in need.
