Gail has not asked for help, but her friends have insisted after witnessing the reality of a legal system that fails to sufficiently protect women prepared to end an unhealthy marriage.  The financial reality is that while Gail’s husband can afford a bulldog of a lawyer to destroy her name and reputation and take her son away from her, she cannot. The stakes are high enough that it’s clear she needs a lawyer who can ensure she gains sole custody of her son; she has been his primary caretaker, the one who has ensured his safety and emotional well-being for the past 13 years. She has secured a place to live and a full time job (putting her college goals—she’s just one year away from obtaining her undergrad degree in education—on hold) to provide for her family; without a very good lawyer to protect against her spouse’s hard-hitting one, though, she might lose custody of her son.  Please contribute to ensure that this legal battle doesn’t end up being won by the person able to afford a private lawyer.”
