When you are scared but you still do it anyway, that's BRAVE!!
Ayla at 11 months, 2 months before she was diagnosed

Blood Transfusion after 1st Chemo Treatment

Second round of Chemo (8-27-14) #TeamAyla
Approximately one month after my niece, Ayla's 1st birthday, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor (optic nerve glioma). Ayla’s tumor is located in the frontal lobe of her brain. It is wrapped around the right optic nerve and is very close to the left optic nerve thereby making it inoperable. Ayla will have to undergo weekly sessions of chemo for 12 months. There is a 60% chance the chemo will shrink the tumor, but it may never go away. If the tumor doesn't shrink with chemo, it will grow, taking over the brain. We are praying that the chemo will shrink the tumor and Ayla will just have to undergo maintenance doses of chemo throughout her life, as the tumor starts to grow again.
We are trying to raise money to help cover the ongoing expenses that are not covered by her medical insurance, (i.e., MRI scans every 6 weeks, weekly trips for chemo treatment, etc.). We are asking for support from our family and friends in this time of need. Any donation received will help Ayla and her family with some of these expenses and ease their burden during this difficult time. You don’t have to donate much, anything will help. You can donate anonymously if you wish. We are grateful to have such a wonderful support network and thank you for your prayers and kind gestures.
