Please Help Judy

It's amazing how quickly one's life can change in the blink of an eye. On April 20, 2022, my Grandfather, Paul, went to ask my Grandmother, Judy, if she'd like her morning cup of coffee. When she gave him a blank stare and didn't respond, he did a couple of quick tests and found that she could not raise her right arm and could not verbally respond to him. He called 911 and got her to the hospital. There, they found that she had suffered a stroke caused by a blood clot in the left side of her brain. They were able to completly remove the blood clot, so we thought she was on her way to recovery. The next night, Thursday April 21, 2022, my Grandmother suffered a major heart attack that would have claimed her life if she'd not been in the hospital already. The hospital staff rushed her to the cath lab, where she had a stint placed after they found a blockage in the main artery coming out of her heart. My mom and I were able to visit her that following Saturday. She seemed alert and in good spirits. She could giggle, say yes and no, raise her head and look to the right, which she had not been able to do since her stroke, and sing, all be it slowly, childrens nurery rhymes. She could NOT move her right arm and hand, which were severly swollen, nor could she say many words at all.
The next day I saw her was Saturday, May 7, 2022, where she'd since been moved to a rehab facility. My parents and I got to spend the day with her again. She could now completly move both hands and arms and the swelling was gone. She could say more words, still with broken speech though. She's doing 3 types of therapy each day, with an hour in each one. She's improved so much in just 2 1/2 weeks time. On Monday, May 9, 2022 I found out that she had gotten sick, vomitting and diarrhea, was having dizzy spells, and complaining of her stomach hurting. They took her back to the hospital, worried that she may be having another stroke. She had another MRI done, which cae back clear. So no 2nd stroke, which is good news,

The rehab was originally talking about discharging her this Friday, May 13, but I don't know that they still will since she got sick.

So why did I create this GoFundMe for her? Like I said, it's amazing how quickly one's life can change in the blink of an eye. They were not prepared for this, who is? My Grandmother has always been a very happy go lucky person, always smiling and singing. She loves to paint and has always had an artistic touch. But now she needs help. Help covering these medical bills, help being able to stay in the rehab to get the physical therapy, speech therapy, and occupational therapy that she needs to help get her back to where she was before her stroke. She's always been willing to help others in need, and now she's the one that needs help.

I thank you for taking the time to read her story and what's she's been through in less than a month's time. She has a very long road of recovery ahead of her and I pray that she's able to keep her spirits high like she's done so far. If you are able to donate anything, anything at all, myself and all of my family would be forever grateful!
