This is a fundraising campaign for DMK Animal Shelter in Uganda.
DMK Animal Rescue is an animal shelter created by Calvin Kigozi in Uganda. Calvin was inspired to start up an animal rescue organization for the love of animals in his community. The animal shelter is helped and managed by Calvin's friends: Kenneth Kubulu, Alex Kasaga, and Andrew Sempira.

Animal cruelty cases became significantly apparent during the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020. The DMK Animal Rescue shelter was set up on 11/09/2021 to help stray animals in Calvin's community in Uganda. To this date, the animal shelter has been operating, with the help and generosity of people.
As of 1/15/2024, DMK Animal Shelter takes care of 23 dogs, 6 puppies, 1 cat, and 7 hens.
Introducing the 6 puppies in the shelter: Bruno, Ninja, Thunder, Jet, Gigi, and Ace.
The animal shelter is faced with multiple challenges:
1. Insufficient foods for feeding animals.
- Approximately 21 bags of foods are required each week to feed the animals. 3 bags per day. Each bag of food costs $35.
- 4 jugs of milk can last a full week. Each jug of milk costs $22.
- Transportation fee for 21 bags of foods from pet store to shelter is $20-$35 each trip. If not transporting all animals' foods at once, transportation fee is ~$10 per day.
Unfortunately, the shelter is not able to provide this amount of food without the help of doners. Please consider donating to help the animals.

2. Insufficient funding for immunizations and medications. The shelter has been facing challenges in making paying for the animal's treatment and immunization bills.
All of the donations will go toward helping the stray animals at DMK Animal Rescue shelter in Uganda. We honestly appreciate the help and support. Thank you so very much.
Currently, all donations are sent to either Asha Birungi, the shelter's secretary, or Kasifah Namuyaga, who is a friend and a helper of the DMK Animal Shelter that takes care of small puppy rescues. For transparency, all donations sent to DMK Animal Shelter can be seen via the following document. The document will be updated regularly.
