Meet Oso: a typically high energy rottweiler/heeler/beagle mix and my constant companion since I rescued him as a puppy. Anyone who knows me knows that this dog is my whole life.
On the night of December 3rd, he began to present with coughing and lethargy along with labored breathing and vomiting. Initially it was thought to be kennel cough and a vet appointment was made for him to get antibiotics by the end of the week. But by the 5th, he was passing blood in his stool, refusing all food, and his cough was so severe that it was causing him to collapse and so I brought him into the nearest clinic where he was assessed. They expressed concerns that he has a blockage or something else affecting him abdominally and gave me a quote for some X-rays and tests they recommended.
On december 9th, I took him to the emergency clinic where they took X-rays and confirmed the absolute worst of my fears. My sweet boy has lymphoma, and while he may have a chance with chemotherapy, it’s expensive. I’m appealing to anyone who can help me save my dog, please. He deserves a fighting chance.
