Support Elijah's Recovery After Tragic Accident

On the evening of April 28th, Elijah Presley was riding his motorcycle home from work as usual—until he was tragically struck by a drunk driver.

In just a few short moments, his life, as well as the lives of his friends and family, was permanently altered by this accident. Although Elijah was wearing his helmet and riding safely, he was struck head-on by the driver and was in such bad condition that, by the time first responders arrived, he was unresponsive and completely unconscious.

As he received CPR, it was clear that Elijah had suffered a multitude of injuries—so many that, at the time of my writing, five days after the incident, Elijah still remains asleep and on life support in the Trauma ICU in Portland, Oregon, where he’s built a life with his sister, best friend, and partner-in-crime, Anecia, and his sweet, loving dog Vinny for the past three years. He has undergone several surgeries already and has many more to come. The next few years are going to be difficult for him as he continues his road to recovery, and it cannot be underestimated how much of a blessing it is that he is still here with us.

As he continues to recover, we ask friends, family, and any kind humans who may come across this for any assistance in helping him recover. As his medical needs are being attended to, his medical bills continue to accrue. In addition to this, his family needs to travel to continue to care for him throughout his lengthy recovery.

Elijah is an amazing and brilliant, healthy young man who led an extremely active and adventurous lifestyle, with a variety of hobbies including cooking, photography, rock climbing, outdoor sports, backpacking, traveling, sewing, painting, and writing music—all the while with his loyal dog Vinny by his side. He was very creative and was always working on a project of some sort. He is a fighter and never stops pushing himself to expand his skills and knowledge. This upcoming journey is going to be a long one for him, as he will no doubt be living a completely different lifestyle from the one he previously lived. Drunk driving incidents are certainly not uncommon in the United States, and unfortunately, Elijah was one of the many people who have had their lives impacted permanently in seconds as a result of a drunk driver.
