Support Kimmie’s Recovery and Pay Medical Bills

Help us please pay off medical debt towards 3 hospital stays…

This is incredibly hard for us to ask, as we don’t normally ask others for money. Disney is great but insurance doesn’t cover everything. As many of you know, Kimmie has been very ill this year. The worst of it came at the beginning of June. Kimmie has been out of work until the end of June and is projected to be out until the end of August, possibly longer pending surgery.

Here’s a bit of her story…

Kimmie started experiencing intense abdominal pain/kidney issues at the beginning of June. She went to a doctor, who even after seeing how large her WBC’s were, told her just to “take Tylenol, and the pain should go away.” Kimmie did just that but her pain increased. She would wake up in the middle of the night and be screaming at how much pain she was in.

A couple weeks of this went by, then she decided to go to Urgent Care, where they told her to go to the ER immediately. When she got there, she was told she had a major infection, was septic, and that she came in just in time, because she could have died. The infection was so bad it perforated her bowel and caused a large abscess to form.

After 6 days in the hospital and two weeks of at home infusions and nurses coming to the house, she was readmitted for treatment for more intense pain. The abscess went down some, and but she still needed more courses of IV antibiotics. The doctors did a procedure where they went into drain it, but they were only able to drain a small amount. She has had 4 CTs and insurance is not wanting to cover it all.

She will be at home for a while now, and she has a device hooked up to an IV that is continuously pumping medication in her, and will possibly have to have surgery to remove a portion of her bowel/colon. She meets with doctors and surgery team next week, but she has been out of work with no paycheck for 2 months now, and still has an intense amount of medical debt from January’s visit.

This entire process has been extremely difficult and taxing on our little family. We appreciate any love and support you all have given us.
