Terry’s Cancer Journey

Hello My name is Terry, and I am reaching out in hopes of receiving support during an incredibly difficult time in my life. In November, I was diagnosed with stage 3c ovarian cancer, and sincee then, my world has been turned upside down. As a mother of five and a grandmother of two, I’ve always been independent and worked hard to take care of myself and my loved ones. But now, as I face the realities of this illness, I find myself relying heavily on my daughters and struggling to make ends meet.

I already have pre-existing heart and other medical conditions, and the strain of managing both my health and the costs of cancer treatment is taking its toll. I currently have to go to the hospital four times a week for appointments, which, combined with the costs of transportation and mounting medical bills, is becoming increasingly difficult to handle. Each trip costs nearly $100 a day for transportation, needingUbers as I am no longer physically able to take public transportation and with my daughters only making minimum wage, they are stretched thin trying to support me in any way they can.

The emotional and physical toll has been devastating, especially as I’ve already lost most of my hair. But what hurts the most is the financial strain that comes with trying to balance appointments, medications, and basic needs. I am doing my best to stay strong for my family, but I can’t do this alone. I am reaching out in the hopes that with the help of some generous people who may be able to provide some support to help with transportation costs, medical bills, or any other resources that could ease this burden.
