Kristen's Type 1 Killers

Donation protected

As most of my friends and family know, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 8 years old. It is hard to believe that over 22  years have passed and we are still fighting for a cure. Now that I am working as a Registered Dietitian in the department of Endocrinology at Albany Medical Center, I have realized more than ever that research has enabled the great technological advances in the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes. These advances are allowing all people with Type 1 Diabetes to live longer and healthier lives. However, in order for research to occur, funding is needed. Therefore, I am asking for donations for this year’s “Walk to Cure Diabetes,” where I will be walking with my family and friends to help raise money to fund more research to find a cure for Diabetes.

Ever since the age of 8, I have dreamed of one day not having Diabetes at the forefront of my mind, not having to test my blood sugar up to 12 times a day, not wearing an insulin pump 24/7, not having to figure out how much insulin I need to give myself before everything I eat or drink, worrying about low blood sugars and worrying about high blood sugars the rest of the time. With your help this dream will come true! Please know that no donation is too small, every penny helps bring us closer to a cure. Thank you for your help in killing Diabetes forever!!!
